The condition of the magazines vary and are listed below. #2 Issue - January 1954 (Very Good+/Fine condition) The spine shows some wear with a tiny bit of rust on the staples, but does have a very tiny 1/2 inch split on the spine from the bottom left corner.
The staples and binding are very firm with no looseness. The centerfold is firmly attached by both staples. Minor wear showing on the front and back cover, which includes light scuffing, small finger dents, and light creases. The pages are white in color. #3 Issue - February 1954 (Good+/Very Good condition) This issue is in very nice condition with some wear.
The front cover looks great with some light scuffs, finger dents, and wear. There is some spine wear with about a 4 and 1/2 inche split on the spine from the bottom left corner. The staples and binding are tight. The centerfold is firmly attached. The back cover has wear also, with some light marks and scuffs. #4 Issue - March 1954 (Very Good+/Fine condition) This issue in in very nice condition. There is some wear and light stress marks.The staples are rust free and binding are tight. The centerfold is very firmly attached by both staples. The front cover has bright colors with average wear, finger dents, and marks. The back cover looks great also with just some light wear and minor soiling.
#5 Issue - April 1954 (Very Good+/Fine condition) This issue is in excellent condition with very minor wear. The spine looks great with some light paper loss on the edge. The pages are extremely white with no off white showing. The centerfold is very firmly attached by both staples with some rust to the staples. The front cover looks excellent with just minor wear. The colors look vivid and sharp with no fading. The back cover looks great also, with just some marks/scuffs in a few areas. Overall, a very nice example of this issue.#6 Issue - May 1954 (Fine-/Fine condition) This issue is in very nice condition. The spine has some light spine ticks and the binding is tight. The centerfold is attached and the staples show some rust.
The pages are white to off-white. The front cover is excellent and very clean with some light wear. The back cover has light soiling and some wear showing but looks excellent.
#7 Issue - June 1954 (Fine+/Very Fine- condition) The spine has extremely light wear with some light paper loss and the staples show rust. The pages are very white and are crisp. The front cover looks great and is in amazing condition with no noticeable wear showing, aside from light dings. The back cover looks extremely clean and sharp with vivid colors and no fading.#8 Issue - July 1954 (Very Good/Very Good+ condition) This magazine is in very good condition with spine wear showing. The centerfold is very firmly attached. The pages are very white.
The front cover has some very light wear and some finger dings. The back cover has some scuff marks, light soiling, and wear showing. #9 Issue - August 1954 (Very Good+ condition) There is hardly any spine wear showing, as it looks great. The pages are all white and the binding is extremely tight. The front cover shows minor wear and some light marks.
The back cover looks very clean with some scuffs, minor finger dents, and light marks. #10 Issue - September 1954 (Good+/Very Good condition) This copy is in good condition.
The spine has minor wear with a small spine split from the bottom left corner to the bottom staple and another spine split from the top left corner to the top staple. The centerfold is firmly attached with light rust showing on the staples. The front cover is very clean and crisp with just some tiny finger dents and no noticeable wear.The back cover looks excellent with no wear showing. Just an overall great copy of this issue. #11 Issue - October 1954 (Very Good/Very Good+ condition) The spine has some light wear showing and is in excellent shape with minor stress marks. The pages are white and the centerfold is firmly attached with no rust on the staples. The front cover looks very nice and has only minor wear showing.
The back cover is extremely clean with just a few light creases. #12 Issue - November 1954 (Very Good/Fine condition) The spine shows some minor wear and slight paper loss. The centerfold is very firmly attached with rust on the staples.The front cover is in very nice shape with some light wear, marks, dings. The back cover is extremely clean with very light wear and scuffing. #13 Issue - December 1954 (Good+/Very Good condition) The spine is very clean with just very light wear. The pages are all extremely white. The centerfold is attached and the staples are rust free.
The front cover is in very nice shape with some wear showing, finger dents, and light marks. The back cover is in great condition with some minor wear and light scuffing. The production run is approximately limited to only 100,000 copies for the year of 1954, which explains why the 1954's are so hard to find.
