The book measures 10.5cm x 16cm, 4.5cm thick. THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER. And Administration Of The Sacraments. And Other Rites And Ceremonies Of The Church. According to the use of The United Church of England and Ireland. Together with The Psalter Or Psalms Of David. Pointed as they are to be sung or said in churches; and the form and manner of making, ordaining, and consecrating of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons. The book measures 10.5cm x 16cm, 3.5cm Thick.

The original leather case measures 12cm x 17cm, 9cm thick. Considerable surface wear, discolouration, noticeable.

Edges and corners show particular wear. A couple of white, likely paint, flecks dotted on the surface. Remains in fully functional condition, remnants of a ribbon pull evident on pull out flap.

The books fit snugly and securely in place. Bare off yellow Interior stiff board, age discoloured, leather folds over top edge by around an inch. Both books and case bound in deep dark purple, almost black leather. In remarkable condition considering age, some light surface scuffing/wear.

Quality firm binding with embossed tooling, gilded titles on the spine, working brass clasps. The clasps remain firmly attached, full working order, some surface patina. Most fascinating and quality gauffered gilded page edges, this really adds a high quality to the set. A fish scale type pattern on all sides of both books, gold gilded.

Remains in remarkable condition, some light wear of the gilding. The contents are complete, tight and perfectly functional. Small amounts of age related page discolouration is dotted throughout, foxing brown spotting, unavoidably common on antique paper. This is not particularly wide spread and does not distract from the overall quality of the set. In summary a high quality and rare set! A must have for any serious bible collector.
