Up for sale is this early and very rare little antique chapbook, A History of Fishes. The chapbook is in overall good condition. It is a small softcover string binding which measures approximately 4 1/8 inches by 2 1/2 inches and is 29 pages long. The covers are made of patterned paper and they only have some minor wear as illustrated in the photos. The binding of the book is very good.
The interior pages are generally good with some tanning/light foxing and some minor and light wrinkles. The book is illustrated with several great little woodcuts. The book is undated but is most likely circa sometime around the 1820's. It was printed in New York by S. There is a period inscription in fountain pen on the front inside cover as illustrated in the 2nd photo. All in all a really great and scarce little early American chapbook.
