Book is in nice condition for its age, some wear and marks but overall good shape. Roads to Roam' was written with no thought of publication in mind. It was originally prepared by Mr. Birney simply as a running narrative to accompany several hundred photographs he had taken in the course of his trip.
Under the title of'Visible Forms,' it was circulated among a dozen of his friends, and it was in this very intimacy that the chief charm of the book lay for those whom it reached. It is the friendly, intimate journal of one who knows and loves the country of which he writes and who wishes to share it with others.
As such, it is offered with but little revision and no apologies. Illustrated with black and white photographs.
