This is a stunning two volume set entitled The Salon A Collection of the Choicest Paintings Recently Executed By Distinguished European Artists edited by Professor Charles Carroll of New York University. Beautiful red leather spines with gold gilt patterns and details. Printed in 1881, these volumes have dozens of illustrated plates of sketches and paintings. Tight bindings, age-related wear as seen in photos, some foxing to pages, each volume has one loose illustration page. A fantastic reference of display set.
