Rare ornate antique edition - Rollo's Tour in Europe by Jacob Abbott - 6 books 1858. No other date appears in the books so I'm thinking that these could be a 1st edition. Books include: Rollo in Paris, Rollo in Switzerland, Rollo in Geneva, Rollo in London, Rollo on the Rhine, and Rollo in Rome.

Condition is "Acceptable", although for the age of the books I consider them very good. This is a beautiful set of antique books with different colored, attractively designed covers and spines. 9 - 16 engravings in each book.

Light soiling of the text block edges. Two of the books have cracking front hinges (see photo). Endpapers yellowed, some with moderate wear, stains, soil and/or foxing. Several cracks to webbing between pages in each book.

A little page soil, some creases, small tears, page wear (see photos) for worst. A handful of places with blue pencil in "London" book - roads traced on a map, numbers on a blank page, lightly along bottom margin of one page, two small items circled on one of the engravings (see photos for first three). Found one partly loose page. Last blank pages of "Rome" book had been stuck together and are marked up (see photo).
