This is a gorgeous old book. It is huge and just an amazing site to see. I see only the date 1869 but there may be other dates I don't see or understand. There is some Roman numerals too.

I found a description below online. It explains it all perfectly. HITCHCOCK'S NEW AND COMPLETE ANALYSIS OF THE HOLY BIBLE: OR, THE WHOLE OF THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS ARRANGED ACCORDING TO SUBJECTS IN TWENTY-SEVEN BOOKS. Johnson & Sons, New York, 1869. Oversized half-leather volume, all edges gold gilt, very handsome although showing signs of its 140+ year-old age.

Brown leather spine is richly, ornately embossed with gilt; corners are also brown leather. Front and back boards are covered with brown pebble cloth, and are both ornately gilted as well. Some rubbing to edges; some edges rubbed through.

Textblock clean, tight, square, some tanning, still perfectly readable. All pages are firmly attached to one another but not to the cover.

Tissue-lined black and white illustrations throughout. Complete satisfaction guarantee; Hitchcock's "Holy Bible Complete and How to Understand It" is not a bible, but rather a complete analysis and referencing of the verses of the bible into 27 different chapters, or categories, building on (and crediting) the earlier work of Matthew Talbot and Rev.
