Incredible Unique Antique 19th C. Of Tombs, Caskets and Monuments. Titled by Original Owner'A Mustration of Sepulchral Tombs in their Respective Centuries. With English origin, this album hails as one of the most unique and interesting volumes that I have had in my collection. Although it's original author remains unknown, the great care and extensive nature of it's creation suggests it to be the work of a historian, advanced student, or invested designer.

Likely assembled around 1880, this stunning volume is comprised of nearly 200 considerably rare, carefully pasted down original period images, including many copperplate etchings, engravings, and lithographs (generally date between 1600 to 1820). Some images may date as early as the 16th century, while very few appear to date past 1830.

Additional hand written notes in fancy calligraphy add to the extravagant nature of this compilation. Album, in oblong format, contains approximately 50 thick paper leaves (100 decorated sides) and is nearly entirely full. It contains a particularly abundant selection of etchings by Wenceslaus Hollar, published between 1650 and 1680. Prints generally in English, with some additional ones in Latin and French. A number of loose articles also present within the pages, including seven large-format lithos after Edwin Hadlow Wise Dunkin, published circa 1875.

There is also a decent handful of loose scraps cut from the London Illustrated News, dated to 1856. No matter how you look at it, this album is jam packed with aesthetic. Measures approximately 11.5" x 9" inches (by 1 thick).
