Antique Original 1839 Historic Portsmouth New Hampshire City Book and Directory. This is in truly remarkable condition for age and intended use. Embossed boards with gilt lettering. Worth the price just for the beautiful printed material throughout.

A great tool for maritime, historical and genealogical research. Loads of interesting and important material as well as plenty of fun advertising. Not every day you find things with an anti slavery society advertised!

Beautifully printed on early paper, this book is truly a work of art. Measures about 6.25" by about 4".

There is the occasional smudge and creased page, but looks more like something from the 1960's than Civil War period. Please get them approved before purchasing. Any questions must be answered before the sale.
