Rare Antique German Medical Book published in 1595

  

423 year old German medical book. It was published in Saxony in 1595. The book is divided in two sections.

The first 424 pages are devoted to. General ailments and the second 434 pages are devoted to specialization of women's and children's diseases.

Many remedies suggested which appear strange today, but were apparently subscribed by physicians of that time: Dried angle-worms, pulverized in wine; birds' eyes prepared in various ways; livers of wolves. The book is substantially bound in full calf leather with raised bands and blind-stamped boards. Front cover is stamped with the date of printing 1595.
