Rare Antique Composition Doll in Shadowbox Frame 18thC Lady Reading a Book

  

This is just an amazing little shadowbox display with a handmade doll.... The is an 18th century style lady dressed in a beautiful blue gown with handmade little fabric flowers... She is reclining on a couch with one hand holding a book.

There is a little table beside her other hand which holds an open envelope and a little stick of wax and a seal. There are pillows behind her.

I'm not exactly sure what her head and hands are made of... But it looks like it could be a sculpted composition of some kind with painted features.

The shadow box is an antique frame with very old fabric backing and there is very old braid which this was originally hung by I wouldn't recommend hanging it by this now! The shadowbox measures approximately 13" x 10 1/2" x 4 deep. You will absolutely love this!
