Rare Antique Companion To Alfred Ronalds Fly Fishers Entomology, Circa 1862

  

This rare find is a beautiful collectors piece. It measure about 7x 6. It includes several very old flies.

Title-page including 13 pages of text describing Ronalds' 47 fly patterns interleaved with 6 vellum leaves with pockets on both sides of each leaf to hold the flies. The forty-seven flies described in the text are those recommend by Ronalds to be fished between the months of March and August.

With the original felt leaf to dry the fly patterns bound-in. Included are several examples of period English flies with gut leaders laid-in the vellum pockets. Bound in the original brown leather wallet-style case with folding flap and with the original brown leather strap and fastener.
