1889 The Prince and the Pauper: A Tale For Young People of All Ages by Mark Twain. Outstanding early copy of Twain's classic tale with 192 illustrations.

The book displays impressively, measuring 9" x 7 1/4" with decorative gold, black, and green cover design. The book is in very good condition -- I would call it near perfect. There is some very light wear at the top and bottom of the spine and a couple tiny areas of rubbing at the bottom of the front cover that are barely noticable. Other than that, it looks essentially flawless to me -- please see photos to make judgement for yourself.

The edges of the pages and endpapers show some staining, but I saw no pervasive staining throughout. There is an owner's inscription but I see no other writing or rips (though I did not inspect each of the 380+ pages individually). Overall this copy of The Prince and the Pauper would make a beautiful find for any Twain fan.
