RARE Antique 1800s SURVEY PROOF BOOK Handwritten Math Geometry Surveying Diagram

  

Very Rare Handwritten BOUND PROOF BOOK " SURVEYING THE LAND PART 1st ". Since the first 2 pages are torn in half, I do not know the author or date, or any other information. Though the title half-page says PART 1st, the spine has "SURVEYING IV ". 92 LEAVES (unnumbered) or about 180 pages filled with handwritten examples, problems, and Rules and text, with hand drawn and colored geometric shapes.

There are sections that are titled such as "FOR FINDING AREA OF A TRAPEZIUM" and other shapes, segments and more. There are other sections with more surveying related topics, such as : THE USE OF THE CROSS STAFF IN SURVEYING and THE USE OF THE THEODOLITE IN SURVEYING and more. There are a few areas where 1 or more pages are torn out, possibly mistakes, or author decided the arrangement wasn't right?

There is 1 Fold-out page. SIZE: Approx 10 1/4" by 8 1/4" with about 180 pages or 92 leaves. CONDITION: THE COVERS ARE OFF, and approx. The first 15 leaves are loose.

As mentioned above, the first 2 leaves are TORN IN HALF, so no publication or author data is available. Leather is very worn, boards have rubbing wear, scuffs, and edges show the boards.

Loose pages have some ragged edges, and there is some mild ink-bleeding. Please see pictures for visual description. This great, old book will be a great addition to your Antique Book collection. Please see my other books listed.
