RARE 1874 "LIFE OF JOHN COLERIDGE PATTESON" 2 VOLS 2.5kg ANTIQUE BOOKS (P12). Great RARE COMPLETE SET of antique HUGE HEAVY fine binding hardback books from 1874 by Charlotte Mary Yonge on the life of John Coleridge Patteson. John Coleridge Patteson was an English Anglican bishop, missionary to the South Sea Islands, and an accomplished linguist, learning 23 of the islands' more than 1,000 languages.

In 1861, Patteson was selected as the first Bishop of the Anglican Church of Melanesia. Complete set of two volumes. Photo 3 shows the lovely marbled design on the page edges. Photo 24 shows some wear to the top of the cover spines but bindings and pages inside each book are in great condition especially as the books are 150 years old.

Measures 22cm tall x 14cm wide x volume 1 is 5cm thick and volume 2 is 5.25cm thick. Combined weight of both books is 2.6kg. See photos for examples of pages inside each book. They are working to resolve this (allegedly) but estimates are too short.
