Burmah's Greatest Missionary - Life of Adoniram Judson - Published in 1854. This is a very rare 1st edition antique book published in New York: Edward H. Biography of Adoniram Judson, an early American Christian missionary in southeast Asia. Published just four years after Judson's death, this book contains some great illustration of the era. Adoniram Judson (August 9, 1788 - April 12, 1850) was an American Congregationalist and Baptist missionary, who served.

In Burma for almost forty years. At the age of 25, Judson was sent from North America to preach in Burma.

Work with Luther Rice led to the formation of the first Baptist association in America to support missionaries. One of the first Protestant missionaries to Burma. He translated the Bible into Burmese and established a number of Baptist. Judson compiled the first ever Burmese-English dictionary. Each July, churches in Myanmar celebrate.

"Judson Day, " commemorating his arrival as a missionary. Was named in his honor. This is a very old book, almost 170 years old. Pages are yellowed, book cover is worn and shows some tearing. Please view all photos for condition.
