RARE 1756 "THE GRAND TOUR" EUROPEAN JOURNEY VOLS 1-4 ANTIQUE BOOKS (T8). Great antique COMPLETE SET of fine binding books from 1756 by Mr Nugent on his grand tour journey of travelling through the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and France. A great insight into 18th Century Europe. Complete set of four volumes. Photo 3 shows the lovely marbled design on the page edges.

Photo 5 shows that the two initial blank pages are missing from volume 1. Photo 12 shows pencil writing on the inside cover of volume 2 and there are pencil swirls on the following two blank pages. Photo 16 shows that the initial pages of volume 3 are missing the pages start at page 19. Photo 17 shows exposed webbing on the inside cover crease of volume 4 and pencil writing on the opposite blank page. Bindings of all four books feel strong and tight.
