A beuatiful book, illustrated with 28 full page illustrations of religious nature. The illustrations are very much in the style of Gustave Dore, who of course was notyet born when this book was printed.

The illustrations of heaven and hell are extremely vivid and still very much relevant. The book has 315 pages with at the end a hand written "Act of contrition" by one of the previous owners. The book is in very good condition for its age: the cover is intact and the binding is tight. There appears to be one page missing of the index in the end and one page has some damage on a corner (fading). The book may have had a clasp, which is no longer present.
