All problems are noted, if you need more information or images please contact me and I will respond as soon as possible to you. My items are all antique or vintage so will show signs of use or wear, I do not sell new goods. Here we have a lovely and hard to find cheerful Desmond character made by Deans Rag Book Company. As images show he is made from velvet with spotted coat and unlike his brother Dismal has a smiling face.
He was created after Dismal Desmond but was not popular so is now a more sought after toy due to lower numbers of production. Dismal Desmond was created by Ian Hassall, who was the son of John Hassall, a famous illustrator. He was first heard of in 1926, and first appeared in the Toby magazine for boys. He is 5.5 high and in good vintage condition, only missing his left ear , and slightly soiled and worn from loving children's hands, but still so charming! Please see all images as they show the detail well.
