Ware, at the Bible and Sun on Ludgate-Hill, 1762. Rare mid eighteenth century finely bound King James Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, with the Apocrypha, and bound with a Book of Common Prayer in front and Downame's Concordance at the rear (the latter dated 1762). Bound in attractively designed gilt bordered marbled leather boards, the spine with gilt ruled raised bands, gilt decor and a red and gilt title label, as shown. Light wear top the extremities, some very light losses, and exposure, and some rounding; front board detached and the rear intact.

Bible measures approx 10.5" tall x 8.5" wide x 3.5 thick. Main block for the most part clean with minor wear/staining, a few small repairs, some ink doodles, a small bump in Exodus with creasing, light loss and smaller closed tears to a few leaves; lacks BCP title page, starting at A3 (Preface); the rest of BCP present. The Bible lacks its title pages but is textually complete otherwise, including prelims and indices. The concordance is complete with the dated title page. Add a map to your own listings.
