Beaux and Belles of England. This handsome burgundy, leather bound, 27 volume set is a Edition de Luxe meaning that it is a rare, luxury limited printing of only 1000 sets. The books were published by The Grolier Society of London in 1900. The book covers are burgundy leather and cloth with a faux lizard skin finish.

For their age, the covers are in good condition. There is some fading of the cloth and light spotting. There is some minor bumping on the edges.

In addition, a few of the books have minor nicks in the leather. The beautiful spine has gold embossed flowers and lettering with ridges. The spines are intact, but there are some minor signs of bumping on the edges. The pages of the books are rough cut with a gilt top edge.

There does not appear to be any foxing of the pages. The end papers are gorgeously marbled and are in great condition. Each book has a colored illustration to the left of the title page. There is a bound protective tissue between the illustration and title page. There are other protective tissues covering the other black and white illustrations throughout the books.
