This is one of the coolest antique "manikin" books I've seen! I've seen a few but this one is more detailed w/many more of the fold out manikins + it is by Ira E. (haven't seen another by his company); I've seen some by the Eckels company but not Ira Bunn's. It is from around 1900--maybe a bit earlier or a bit later--and measures 11 1/4" X 15 1/4"; when it's opened, it measures 25 wide. Its first image shows "The Body" & has 1 fold out.

Next is "The Head" with 5 fold outs. Next is "The Eye and Ear" with 5 and 2 fold outs respectively. Next is "The Skeleton"---no fold outs.

Next is "Muscles, Veins, Arteries and Nerves"--no foldouts. "Diagram of Nervous System"--no foldouts. "Blood Formation, Absorption and Circulation"--no fold outs. "Sections of Upper and Lower Extremities"--both 5 fold outs. "Male Genital Organs"---3 large fold outs!

"Sectional View of Female"--second centerfold. And lastly, "Female Pelvic Organs" with 10 fold outs! Some of this last category show development of baby in the uterus. CONDITION: Antique and used condition!

From the early 1900's, used to have a tiny key but it's gone now, front and back covers show wear and use, each corner shows wear----2 of them are very worn & FRAYED/TATTERED, top left corner has some of its covering torn, some wear/browning/foxing throughout the book, one page has some minor DENTING from the adjacent page's rivets, pages are all held together with some kind of binding material which gives them (the pages) a loose feeling but they are all secure. I think that's about it.... it's in remarkably good condition for its age! I think it had a lock/key because of the male & female pelvic pictures!
