Antique set 4 Edgar Allen Poe 1800's books published 1894 gilt edge VERY RARE
There is a name in the corner of a few of the books that was obscure enough that I was able to trace the books back to a family in Pennsylvania with possible revolutionary ties. The books appear to have been brought to California in the 1950s or so by either the grandson or great grandson.
I was unable to find any living relatives, however I'm not terribly good at using genealogy to find modern people! The books are from 1894. Books appear to be in really good shape for their age. I noticed only very minor blemishes. Overall the binding seems pretty solid.
If you have a particular concern just message me as while I'm a fan of old books, I'm not an expert. This was originally a 10 volume set, but I only have 1-4. Full sets with no history, when occasionally available, regularly fetch 1k. These are in great shape for their age.
I had trouble believing they were as old as they are at first. They were very well cared for.
