You are getting this professionally framed and very rare die-cut booked titled SANTA CLAUS and published by McLoughlin Brothers Publishing of New York in 1895. This 126 year-old children's book is beautifully presented in a high quality shadowbox frame under glass with clear tabs keeping it afloat. The frame measures 20.25 inches by 12.25 inches by 1.00 inch. It was already framed when I acquired it and I have never taken it out.

I bought it for hanging and display at Christmas time. This is one of the rarest Santa Claus books and is a large die-cut folio shaped book measuring 14 inches high by 6.5 inches wide with 16 pages including the covers and containing 4 color chromolithographs of Santa inside the book plus many black and white drawings. The highly detailed and beautifully illustrated cover depicts Santa with a walking stick made of a holly tree branch and carrying a large sack of toys, and many strapped onto his belt, including a Judy doll from the popular Punch & Judy series from that era. This cover art was subsequently used on a McLoughlin Brothers board game titled "Game of the Visit of Santa Claus".

The book displays beautifully propped up in the shadow box with a lovely dark green marbled matting but it does show wear expected for a 126 year-old children's book including some creases, tears and minor chipping.
