6th picture are 2 samples by someone signed Ames; most probably Daniel T. Samples online are closely relational to these. He wrote Ames Guide to Self Instruction in Practical and Artistic Penmanship. I could not find him online but his work is every bit as good as those I did find. 8th pic: an exquisite bird's nest by N.

There are 3 total samples in the book by this penman: 2 birds and 1 very fancy script. 10th pic is a swan by William E. There is also another sample by this famous penman of fancy script. Sorry, I could not get the camera to focus on both drawings. Some nice samples by Mr. S Preston, Bearce and Fairchild. There are many other really nice samples of autographs, text only, and birds that I don't have room to show. No other animals other than birds and a swan or two. This little book got around, drawings are noted from: Quincy Ill, Rochester NY, Philadelphia, 205 Broadway NY, ? Ferry Penna, Boston Mass, Baltimore MD, Deadwood Neb (can' find this town) Springville NY, East Bridgewater Mass, 630 Washington St Boston Mass, Union City Pa, Rockford Ill, Brooklyn NY Atlanta GA, Utica NY. Several have business college notations, maybe college is where the owner of this book ran into Madarasz, during his college days.
An online biography says he went to college in Rochester, that is city noted on one of Madarasz's bird drawings. Blodget, who seems to have known quite a few highly skilled penman.
