1888 Book of Mormon antique RARE
This 1888 copy of The Book of Mormon belonged to a well-known Christian Disciple (Campbellite) preacher by the name of William Franklin W. The Christian Disciples were well aware of the Mormons in the early days of the LDS church. Sidney Rigdon was a member and preacher of the Christian Disciples when he converted to Mormonism, bringing with him a number of followers. Bennett, a well-known Mormon in the Nauvoo era, was another famous Campbellite convert to the LDS faith. This copy of the Book of Mormon is filled with Ledlows notations, thoughts, and cross references throughout.
The book itself is in rough shape. The back strip has sun fading but the gilt lettering is still visible. The edges are frayed and the binding is weak, but still attached.
