The Works of Schiller (1883). Schiller's fabulous and classic prose is here in English in this 1883 huge, 4-volume edition of The Works of Schiller. This was published by George Barrie Publishing. This set has spectacularly detailed wood engravings and engraving-on-steel illustrations. There are new illustrations each time you turn the pages of these fabulous books.

One volume is poems, 2 volumes are dramas, and volume 4 is histories. There is an introductory biography by Hjalmar H. Each book is large and heavy, measuring 12 by 8 1/2 inches and each weighing over 6 pounds. They have beautiful gilt engraved red leather covers and gilt edges on all 3 sides.

There are approximately 1,550 pages of intense drama and beauty. One of the spine covers is damaged as shown.

The fronts and back of the books are all in very good condition for age. The cover hinges are cracked and fragile, but holding.

The bindings are all in excellent condition with all pages bound. Inner hinges are in tact. Pages show age but are otherwise in excellent condition too with no internal writing, no dog-ears, and no page tears.
