This is a rare and beautiful elephant folio size Holy Bible printed in 1832. It is bound in full leather and measures approximately 17-1/2 x 12 x 5 and weighs just over 20 pounds. It contains about 2000 very clean and crisp gold-edged pages. This is a gorgeous Georgian era masterpiece, likely a pulpit bible or one from a very well-to-do family. It is in very good condition for the age.
Bound in original full leather with lovely gilt work on the spine. Expected signs of age and use with stabilization to hinge securing front board. Binding is sound and boards are securely attached and functional. Initial pages show some signs of age and use as shown, but beyond those, pages are in remarkable condition. Looks to have been well cared for.Very clean and crisp with virtually no foxing. There are many, many full page plate engraving illustrations in superb condition as shown.
A Bible of this size and in such nice condition at nearly 200 years of age is quite rare. It is a wealth of inspiration that will continue to increase in value through time. This will make a fine addition to any collection, becoming an instant family heirloom. If you have any questions or requests, please contact me anytime.
