The Holy Bible, Containing the Old and New Testaments: Translated from the Original Greek, and with the Former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised... Edinburgh: Printed by Mark & Charles Kerr, His Majesty's Printers, 1795. Attractive early Scottish-imprinted Bible in worn period reverse calf leather, with beautiful, antiquated raised bands to the spine (some loss of leather) and heavy use/ wear/rounding as with love, use and age.
Rear board held by a cord, front board detached. Title with some damage, otherwise. Binding firm; interior in overall decent shape, with some foxing, toning and browning, a few creases, as shown.
Some names written along margins in NT, probably indicating sermons read or sections read, all dated around 1820; H J Smith written on front pastedown. Measures 10" x 8.5" x 2.5.
