Details: -The Book measures 6" inches in height by 4" inches in width and contains 541 pages with 22 beautifully illustrated woodcuts that fill most of the pages. He sought a monastic life after his writing career and retired in Santa Croce monastery of Campese where he later died in 1544. Published by Lazarus Zetzner in Strasbourg, France for publication in Venice, Italy. This edition is a reprint of the 1581 edition also printed in Venice. This is the most elaborate and illustrated version of all the versions that were printed. The most famous of all poems written in macaronic verse. Errors and things to note: The book features minor foxing on the many of the pages but is overall in very good condition.
