Stunning! RARE Antique 1903 Wallpaper Sample Book Museum Bandboxes French Style

  

Incredible Antique wallpaper sample book from 1903. From the American Wallpaper Company, Chicago--Pittsburgh. The designs are amazingly beautiful and the colors are still vibrant with rich gold or silver glitter accents.

The pages are 15 inches by 11 inches. There are 33 exquisite wallpaper sample pages in the book with an additional 13 pages that have been used as a Victorian image scrapbook. The majority of the wallpaper pages are luscious pastels with lush roses, swags, and flourishes that are beautiful enough on their own for framing. They could be repurposed into gorgeous band boxes or some other lovely creation. The style makes me think of French style or barbola and rich shabby chic. I can't even imagine how magnificent these wallpapers would have looked in a whole room--perfect for a lady's boudoir! The edges of the pages have some tears and some watermarks but the majority of each page is in very good antique condition. Naturally due to the age of the papers, they are fragile and must be handled carefully.

A few wallpaper pages do have scrapbook images pasted to the back of them. Look carefully at the photos and the description as antique and vintage items are not returnable. Due to their age they cannot be expected to be in flawless condition.
