For sale is a rare antique slavonic Orthodox church book. Printed in Pochayiv Lavra, Ukraine 1759. Apostol is a liturgical book containing: parts of the New Testament, Acts and the Epistles of the Holy Apostles, a collection of common and Sunday prokimnov , prokimnov for special services dedicated to the martyrs, prophets, etc. And alleluiary , separate verses from the Psalms or other books of Scripture. The book has a special markup on the Zachel - fragments for reading at various worship services.

Basically, the Apostles conception is preceded by the word Brotherhood in the personal epistles - Chad Timofey, Chad Filimon and the like. During the church service, the Apostolic Conception proclaims primarily a special reader (as a rule - clothed in the surplice), less often - a deacon; if two deacons participate in the service - the second. At the same time, the priest has the opportunity, blessing, to allow the reading of the Apostle of any lay worshiper, including a woman. The apostle is read at the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom and the Divine Liturgy of St.

Basil the Great in the section called the Liturgy announced after the Trisagion, before reading the Gospel. An apostle can be read at the Liturgy of the Presanious Gifts (in this case, however, the Apostle is not always read). It is read during the service of the Great Hours, during some prayer services and requirements, during the performance of certain Sacraments (Baptism, Wedding, Unction). It is extremely rare, but still there is a reading of the Apostle during matins (example: matins of Great Saturday) and even during vespers (example: vespers on Good Friday).

Before reading the Apostle, one or two of them are prokkimna, and after reading, the alleluiary is performed three times. This book is from my private collection and is in a good condition, befitting its age. Size: L 35 cm x B 22 cm x H 6 cm. Is on sale as is. This is a private sale.
