Authentic 1934 RARE labeled WIGGSIE Paramount Movie cloth doll, movie photo&book

  

Adorable, large 2 5" tall, extremely RARE , cloth doll designed for the 1934, Paramount Pictures film, "Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch after the book of the same name by Alice Hegan Rice. This sweet doll was manufactured by ARCY TOY CO. As the "The Rag doll with a Personality" and has perfectly hand painted features, thick blond, yarn hair with center-part, bangs and braids, long slender arms and legs with shaped feet and is dressed in her original, plaid printed, cotton play dress with long sleeves with organdy trimmed bodice, waistband and bows on her braids and trimmed matching plaid bonnet.

We have included a paperback edition of the original book which inspired this fantastic doll and the movie in which she was featured. She was originally designed and sewn to coinside with the movie and is shown in this illustration in the November 1934 issue of. The Woman's Home Companion. Magazine and on her large wrist tag. She is in very good condition with very light wear due to the fact that these dolls are made of fabric and were popular, Depression era, play things.

She still has her wonderful illustrated wrist tag with details on both side. We also have the black & white large movie still photo showing her and will include it. She has no holes or tears, fading or odors and is from a smoke free home.

She is certainly a contender for top prize in any doll show competition and truly a survivor to be treasured. Other antique and vintage dolls shown in last few photos are not included and each listed separately.
