Specially calculated for the commercial meridian of the United States of America. Lansingburgh: printed by William W. 12pp list of subscribers at end including president JOHN ADAMS. Engraved frontispiece showing the obverse and reverse of six coins including an'America Eagle'. First edition, including the first known illustration of an American coin and (possibly) the first printed use of the U. Experts disagree about whether the first printed use of the U. 56 appears in this work, or not, but there is consensus that the copper-plate engraving of the 1795 U. Eagle is the earliest known illustration of a United States coin - Eric P. " "This illustration alone makes the book.
