Life of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God (1865). Translated from the French by Mrs. This is the fabulously illustrated and detailed book, Life of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God.

It includes History of the Devotion to Her, Completed by the Traditions of the East, the Writings of the Fathers, and the Private History of the Jews. This was translated from the French of the Abbe Orsini by Mrs. Sadlier and published by D. First published in 1858, this was printed in 1865. Every page has wood engravings for its borders and there are innumerous black and white picture plates.

Each plate is protected by tissue. This book has previously been recovered and the current cover is in excellent condition with little wear.

The outer and inner hinges are in tact. All pages are present and bound. There is slight age related yellowing on the pages. The pictures plates and tissue generally show foxing. The pages are gilt edged on three sides.

There is penciled writing on the title page which looks like the name of a previous owner named Kennedy. There is a printed stamp indicating this book was in the University of Dayton library on the flyleaf. Otherwise, there is no writing on the pages, no dog-ears, and no torn pages. This book is 11 inches by 9 inches and 2 ½ inches thick.
