1675 Antique Bible King James Rare Cambridge Lavishly Illustrated Leather
Printed at Cambridge University by John Hayes, 1675. Dimensions: 9.4" x 7.2" x 2.5. Complete in 3 parts: (1) Book of Common Prayer, 1675 (2) Old Testament, 1675. 178 full page copper plate engravings (more than the usual 151-160) by F.
Van Hove, with the TITLE PAGE "The History of the Old and New Testaments in Cutts" dated 1671 (first edition); printed by Wm. Newer tight binding in 1/2 dark chocolate leather (darker than pics) and book cloth, with end pages added. See details above about a major stain from end of Acts to end of NT, and the smudging to the title of BCP. Excepting a few closed tears that are repaired, the Bible is free of defects, See pics! This Bible is a fine example of an early illustrated Bible from Cambridge University.
